pc not booting down

A little bit more information please?

It isn't shutting down when you turn it off using start > shutdown?

My girlfriend had a problem with this recently with her computer randomly booting up after she turned it off, if that's your problem turn off wake-on-lan. (don't quote me 100%, she's sleeping and I don't want to wake her :P)

if i use the power switch or start shut down windows tells me that it is shuting down and screan will go black but the pc is on i have to hold the power switch to get it to shutdown i just got a new psu and asus tolde it is not the mobo

Could you tell us the model of your ASUS board ? What OS is running..Windows 7 64 bit, 32 bit, Windows 8 etc.

My PC does this too, for like a minute and then will turn off, are you sure you're not just impatient ;)

Is it downloading Windows Updates? I remember that can take a long time. Once I think that happened to me after an update had been applied to my comp. Shut it down the bad way, via the power button on your tower, boot it up again, see if that does anything.
