Personal cloud solutions?

I want to basically create my own personal cloud. Not bittorrent sync or anything like that because that would require an actual copy on all the devices. Something that would allow me to look at files that are stored and then download them while I'm away if necessary. Any ideas?

I will take a look at that but is there anything simpler? Looks kind of complicated at first glance...

Buy a NAS that has online access -easiest

 

Or build a home server -most customizable
