Recommend me a mouse......

Go to solution Solved by chingpot,

Looking at the g402, I like the look of that thing now, 3 thumb buttons would be a treat.

Basically same dimensions as mx500 as well.

Cheers for all the input people

I am claw, not palm to the base

Ok, in that case you may find these to be a bit small or unwieldy.

I'm fingertip, so I always take long mice with ergonomic grips and mouse buttons which have very little downward curve to them (except for my G700s).

For claw you might want something with more of an arc to it... G700s is like that, but it's really heavy.

Just consulting some diagrams..... B) .I'm slightly claw but mostly fingertips, but certainly not palm grip.

Are you referring to the g502?

Just consulting some diagrams..... B) .I'm slightly claw but mostly fingertips, but certainly not palm grip.

So example: I grip my mouse by leaving my wrist idle on the mousepad and I move the mouse by flexing my fingers. I play with fairly heavy mice and at high DPI as a result.

The smaller my mouse gets, the more my grip looks like claw, but I never move my whole arm to move a mouse like you would in normal claw or palm grips.

I went from an old Microsoft laser mouse (forgot the model, but it was for big hands, had side buttons & rubber grips etc) to a Razer Deathadder, and finally to my X7 mouse. It's priced well, is comfortable to use and has a nice button next to the mouse wheel, which you can configure (as well as all other buttons) but by default is a triple click, great for CSS.

Ah yes this is what I do, if I had a larger surface to rest my forearm on I would probably move my wrist more perhaps. But I use a mouse how you describe.

I certainly want a larger mouse then, the m40 looks pretty big, on 2nd thought I would like something a tad bigger than my MX500

wow wow wait, triple click, I'm in the stoneage here, what an advantage. New to me. Most new mice do this or have option to program?

Yeah if that's what your grip is like, then you'll probably like the stuff I use. G700s is good for a heavy and large mouse (was my go-to mouse for a long time, still a favorite), G502 is my next purchase cuz it's a god among mice.

The Logitech G400s is a model refresh of the MX500 from the looks of it, and the G402 is an upcoming refresh to that, it will be $60, has a lot of the qualities of the G502 without so many bells and whistles.

And in the Logitech Gaming software you can bind whichever key you want to be a TRIPPPPPLE CLICK!

Not everyone has the money to splash out on decent stuff. And i was only putting forth an alright mouse i have used personally, as you did come here for advice. Good job of being a dildo though.

Been using an MX500 since 2003, what a mouse, 11 years and its just started to double click or miss clicks sometimes and its had more counterstrike induced lobs and smacks than I can count. May just need a cleaning inside but think its time for an upgrade.

I want something very similar to this, I play FPS, i like buttons and my hands are not the size of a gerbil's but also not colossal shovel hands either. Around mx500 size would be nice, whatever the successor is. Been off the scene a while, what are the pro's using for latest FPS.

Cheers

Any logitech mouse really, they mostly use the same shape as the MX500.

Even the new G502, it still feels like the older Logitech mice.

I personally recommend the G400s, but it looks like it's about to be discontinued in favor of the G502 and G402, the logical successors.

For the record, pros tend to use Zowie mice, but they have a way different shape. I'd suggest stick with the same shape.

Dude, I wasn't being sarcastic relax. Ive been off the scene for years and genuinely was unaware of triple click feature.

Razor looks ok, ill look into that one. Depends on size

What the hell is that thing? i wanted a mouse

haha I giggled.

I personally use the Naga HEX for FPS games.

It has 6 microswitches on the side which are great for twitch movements, and it has 2 extra spine buttons.

It's programming software is great and it's ergonomics are absolutely excellent for grip and stable control.

My friend whom is an advid FPS player has a Corsair M95 mouse, and he's a top ranked Anti Air gunner and artillery gunner in Bf4.

My personal suggestion is the Naga hex, my friends suggestion is the M95.

I don't think the MX500 ever had support in it. But anything on THIS PAGE: http://gaming.logitech.com/en-us/gaming-mice

should have support in the software and it's very good.

A few years back I tried to get the software to program the extra buttons as I lost the disc, but it was unsupported back then. I bought it 2003 so no surprise.

Ah, apologies, it gave me the vibe of sarcasm but i guess i was wrong.

And aye, most USB mice now come with their own software to program the keys. The one i linked has macro profiles for Counter Strike & Warcraft III already in it's software. Btw, i would stay clear of Razer mice now, they've got a new program named Razer Synapse for the drivers which is just an arseache, it syncs your settings online and requires you to be logged into a Razer account. You can install legacy drivers but it's just meh.

Elaborate on the microswitches please, great for twitch movements how?

*edit: OOPS wrong quote up there^ lol

Imagine teeny tiny cherry mx switches for the side buttons on a mouse. Yeah. They're pretty good, only thing wrong with the Hex is that Razer makes it @Norman_the_Owl

lol

Microswitches are small mechanical switches that are easier to press compared to a normal side button.

The mice buttons that normally with your index and middle finger (MB1 MB2) those are Microswitches.

But then center scrollwheel. which is a standard switch.

don't spread missinformation.

Microswitches have no similiarity in design compared to cherry MX switches.

What about the gloss surface, the high price tag, the mediocre build quality, the small size, and the strange shape?

Gotta love that pinky ring finger rest though

Yea course, I get you now. I don't know why I wasn't following you then, didn't realise side buttons weren't generally.....

G600 ring click? O_O

That's better IMO, my friends use that for ingame stuff, like opening inventories.

The Naga hex has 6 of them in a hexagonal pattern, they're easy to press and wont mess up your aim. Very good for quickly tossing a grenade, or melee, or something similar.

Althought I've used my naga epic in FPS games before and it's never messed me up.
