Bios Access

Go to solution Solved by Akolyte,

its windows 8, you cant get into the bios like that.  Go to charms bar, click settings, click general, then go to advanced startup and click that.

Once rebooted and in the advanced startup click troubleshoot, then click advanced options and then click uefi settings.   That will take you to the BIOS, windows 8 laptops are a complete mess sometimes...

I have an Asus Q501LA-BBI5T03 and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get into the bios. I have spammed all of the F keys, insert, delete, pause, print screen, tab, the windows button, you name it I have probably hit it during boot up. So, does anyone happen to know what kind of ancient African voodoo I have to perform to attempt to access the bios? I'm on windows 8.1 if it makes a difference.

Does your keyboad light up or is actully active during boot? If its disabled during boot or doesnt turn on due to it being a USB keyboard, try anohter USB socket, find another keyboard or PS/2 keyboard.

The second you push the power button spam Delete (asus normally Delete for BIOS)

Can you use F7/F8 etc to show the Safe mode option etc?

It's a laptop, I'm using the integrated keyboard. The keyboard back light does flicker on start up. The boot screen is just an ASUS splash screen with a loading scroll wheel under it, no text denominating which button to press to enter BIOS.
