i am in the process of selling my first PC and building a new one. with my new PC, i want to be able to play somewhat old games (such as garry's mod and portal 2) at a resolution of 5760x1080, and be able to play new releases such as star wars Battlefront and star citizen on ultra at 60 fps at a resolution of 1920x1080. i want to pay as little as possible for my PC as of now and i am wondering what main parts i should buy with a budget of preferably under $1,100. note: i am not planning to buy a case until later. this is a link to what i have in mind http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Malik_Eid/saved/V6qBD3 i don't know if i should get an i7 because of new games actually benefiting from better cpu's, and i also don't know if i should get the gtx 780ti instead of just the gtx 780. i also plan on getting a second gpu in the future and using SLI. please give me your feedback, i cant make a decision

That 780 is WAY too expensive. Get an R9 290 instead, it's much cheaper and faster at high resolutions. Don't even consider the 780ti, it's incredibly overpriced.

Also, get a z97 motherboard and a 4690k instead, there's no point in going for an older cpu. An i7 is only worth it if you do more than just gaming. In games it makes next to no difference.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

for single GPU (which is what you will be looking at that budget) you will need something with alot of VRAM  to play at 5760x1080 (R9 290x, Titan Black) which is pretty much impossible on your budget.

If you're looking to build a rig with a $1,100 budget, you should stop looking for triple monitor setups unless you like "cinematic" framerates  :P

INTEL CORE I5 4670K | NVIDIA GTX 980 | NOCTUA NH-L9i | GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-SLI | KINGSTON 120GB V300

CM STORM QUICKFIRE TK | BENQ XL2420TE | ROCCAT SAVU | FRACTAL DEFINE R4

you should save a bit of cash from your powersupply... you dont neek 1k watts. and drop it into bumping up to z97 and a 4970k. also you can get a decent SSD for fairly cheap these days

corsair 600t, msi z87-g45, intel 4770k, 16g patriot viper low-pro ram, asus direct cu2 780, crucial 256gig ssd, seagate baracuda 1tb,

how many watts do you think i should get for my power supply? pc part picker sais i need around 700 for my completed build and i know that a bit of leeway is always good. also, the 1,100 dollar budget is not very strict at all, just somewhat preferred and i would like to get the best performance possible without wasting any money, so feel free to suggest more expensive parts.

i changed the power supply from the 1000 watt to an 850 watt 80+ gold fully modular

I would be willing to say that you would be able to drop down the a 750 watt PSU and still have head room to spare, unless you plan to add another card in

MoBo: 970A-D3P CPU: FX-8350 GPU: HD 7950 PSU: 1000watt RAM:8Gb of G,skill 1600

i do plan to add a second gpu later on, but i am a bit shaky about buying an amd card because of launch problems and optimization problems that amd has had in the past, i also love shadowplay and i use it all the time (but i am willing to give it up for more performance or lesser price). if i get an amd card, it will most likely be the r9 290x.

Yes but the main point is that more VRAM in the AMD cards will be better for higher resolutions, so if you want the same for nVidia you'll have to step down to the 4GB 770 (but then you'll be lacking in GPU power) or up to the 6GB 780 (more expensive)

This is also miscategorized btw, should be in graphics cards section
