Hey guys I have a few questions about overclocking my 4790k. Now before you post the devil's canyon overclocking guide, I have already watched it  :)

I was able to get 4.7 Ghz @ 1.26 V. Stressing it with Aida64 my highest temp was 81 degrees Celsius. My cooler is  a Dark Rock Pro 3. I don't see how Linus got 65 degrees at 1.3V using an AIO.

Is this normal or am I doing my overclock wrong?

Every cpu is different man sometime you win sometimes you dont. im curently at 5ghz at 80c lol 1.4v on mine. the one i had before only went to 4.4 at 100c so i called intel and had it warranty out. im using a PH-TC14PE with 3fan setup for cooling

Nice! I personally would not go that high on core voltage. What kind of cooler are you using?

PH-TC14PE with 3fan setup ive read some ppl half to hit 1.55 for stable at 5 on this cpu

Glad to other people are wining the silicon lottery!  I could not hit 4.8 at 1.3 V. I'm afraid to go higher due to thermals and the longevity of the CPU.

lol yea at 4.8 it was really cool then 4.9 and 5.0 temps started increasing pretty good but im loving this cooler best 74 bucks i spent.

I heard that Intel is going back to using solder for the Haswell-e processors. Imagine the possibilities!

i hope they do then everyone will have alot better chance for thermals being lower.

I see what you did there lol

Do you mean haswell-e or are you waiting for broad-well?

well it all depends i just build my new pc and im really satisfied with it. i upgraded from a q9650 quad core and a 9600gt with 6g of ram and my new system has the 4790k with a gtx 770 and 8gs of ram

I upgraded from laptop lol. Most people would say my pc is overkill but I need it to be. 4790k 16gb of RAM  GTX 780 (currently being RMA'ed)

i know your pain both my mb and cpu had to be rma. They both where bad ive never had a bad cpu until my 4790 showed up lol. I think it fried my mb becuase i did have another cpu in it and it was fine till i put the i7 in place.

that sucks mine experience with flawless with newegg and msi. newegg sent me out a new cpu that same week and msi sent me a new mb the same week aswell. but it sucks to have shit heads like that working for a company that makes a lot of money and dont care about anyone else.
