Hello guys,

Today i tried to follow linus's Overclocking guide and i decided to use Asus Al suite overclocking software, it kept stress testing the cores and i kept monitoring the temp using HWMonitor it was fine until it reached 75*C and 43% increase then i got BSOD. The PC kept restarting and getting BSOD so i decided to reset the clocks to the defualt value, sadly i dont know how to make the program stop OC at a certian point.

PC Specs

Asus X79-Deluxe

Asus GTX 770-DC2

Intel 4930k

G.Skill Sniper 2x8GB 2133

PSU Corsair RM 850w

Case Corsair 760T

As of cooling solution its Corsair H100i and i have 2 140mm Fans infront and one at the back.

My question is, how can i achieve stable clocks?

By not letting software OC. You do OC'ing yourself and you do it slowly and carefully upping the multiplier then upping the voltage to compensate.

Its my first time Overclocking a CPU, what do you think a safe clocks will be for the 4930k?

It's different for every chip. You need to try things and see what stays stable. My advice is aim for 4.2 GHz stable first then slowly work your way up. Remember to keep temperatures under control and stress test for quite a while with prime95.

Mhmm i will try that but as you said its different for every chip, what is the ideal temperature? and thanks for you help.

Ideal temperature would be 85 degrees in prime95 IMO. That's a good distance away from TJMax and It usually means that in gaming scenario's you will max out around 70 degrees. My best advice would be to not surpass 70 degrees during gaming sessions.
