Are these good parts?

Go to solution Solved by RainbowPee,

If the WD caviar blue is gonna be your boot drive/game drive. DO NOT GET THAT HD! blue drives are power saver slow drives. get a 120GB Samsung Evo Pro as the boot drive and a 1-2 TB WD Caviar Black as storage and gaming drive.

I'm pretty sure you're mixing up blues and greens. You can run on the blue just fine. For the future however I'd recommend a 840 Evo for an upgrade.

Looks solid. I would get Arctic MX-4 though for cooling paste. It's incredible thermal paste. I would also go with @floydkid85 's suggestion. Also http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80646i54690k is only 3 pounds more and expensive and is much much better (Devils canyon > Haswell)

He doesn't need to spend and extra $15 for 2C of cooling.

I'm going to be building my computer soon and I wanted to make sure I'm choosing the right parts for it and if there is something that is better, but for cheaper, etc. Basically I want to know if the parts I have chosen are good parts. Here is what I have chosen for the build http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/QrYjBm Any help that you give me is sincerely appreciated as I don't know much about choosing parts. :)

This is what I ended up choosing based on your input: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/nGCYmG + Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" SSD (When I get the money)

Yeah, at the moment I'm just planning on getting the caviar blue, but just like you said later on when I save enough money I'll definitely upgrade to a samsung evo probably 250gb ssd and copy over the os and most games.

I definitely will take into consideration the CPU you just recommended considering it being just 3 squids more, but like @RainbowPee said I won't be spending more on some thermal paste. The only reason it's on the list is because the stock paste that comes with heatsinks isn't of the best quality. Thanks for the help though :).
