Hi guys I would like to ask for recommendations for my friend with a very tight budget.

1. Budget & Location

Philippines 500 - 600 USD

2. Aim

Mostly gaming, should be able to play the latest games decently

It will also be used in programming, java, sql, etc

Overclocks are not needed (for now)

3. Monitors

Single monitor, he already has one at lower than 1080p-ish

4. Peripherals

None

I had this sitting around in my parts list's.

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Hellstormsix/saved/vQYQzy

It should be noted that it lacks an OS, if that's needed and a crucial part of the budget than one could simply drop the Sepphire 280 for their 270 (150 USD).

Not exactly what you're looking for price wise but something you could work off of.

Do not  as I  do, and  not  as I say. Instead do as you may..

Here's my entry to the thread, though @SAV1OUR 's build is better, though I would get a 200R with that over the CM case.

I have suggested the APU's to him but he said he's not impressed with the performance of the integrated "gpu" in them compared to having a dedicated CPU and GPU instead. not sure about this though,

This is looking good! however a cpu cooler would be nice :) like SAV1OUR said, stock cooler with an fx 8320 is kinda, meh, sadly the evo is not available here too, so much for being a third world country. </rant>

what are you talking about the 6300 and 280 are just fine, if you don't need the 6300 get the 8320 or 8350

Hmm, the cost?, if we did that (use lower tier ones) would that drastically decrease the overall performance and the price/performance ratio?

the 6300's pretty much the minimum for gaming and general systems

if you don't need the -lower end CPU- get the -somewhat higher end CPU-

uhm wat

I have suggested the APU's to him but he said he's not impressed with the performance of the integrated "gpu" in them compared to having a dedicated CPU and GPU instead. not sure about this though,

The A10-5800K has a really good CPU in it, you can completely ignore the iGPU considering there's a 270X in that system.

so A10-5800K > 6300 or 8320?

I would say > 6300 but now that it's in budget I would totally get an 8320 and a Shadow Rock 2 or something.
