Good idea to get a refurb Motherboard on newegg?

I am trying to replace my Asus p8z77 v lx that just died recently. Something to get a decent OC for an i5 3570k. Newegg has a few LGA1155 motherboards left that they sell. Other than that they are few and far between. I was thinking of buying a refurbished Asrock Z77 Extreme4 :  but I am not entirely sure what the motherboard has been trhough. Newegg sites say that  refurbished PC components are basically used for testing. Not returns. I am not sure what Open Box is...I bet that would be returns. Let me know if that is not a good idea
