Yes I know >.< but it doesn't matter in the slightest.

The reason xbox has DDR3 is the same reason PC's still use DDR3, because the xbox is a all in one experience as they say, tv, movies etc, GDDR5 isn't designed for that, its for gaming, which the xbox isn't focused on.  GDDR5 is still able to support higher textures better, whether or not developers take advantage of it, is another question.  Maybe for exclusive titles but not cross platform as they will take the easiest route (which will be xbox one)

(pulling that out of my ass but its what I suspect)

of course all these wouldnt be a problem if they decided to have dedicated gpu with dedicated gddr5 ram as well as ddr3 system ram, you get the best of both worlds there, low latency for the system, high bandwidth for textures

The PS4 and Xbox One had similar budget constraints so that's why that wasn't possible.

Also the PS4 effectively has 7GB of GDDR5 because 1g of its being used for the OS.

However the xbox effectively has 5GB of DDR3 because a whopping 3GB is being used for the OS's, as multiple ones are constantly running.
