So my new gtx 660ti doesn't work but it works on my friends pc. i know my motherboard works because i had another 660ti and it worked fine. i also have enough voltage i have 800w.

anyone have any ideas? is there a setting in the bios or something to get it to work? a reply would be much appreciated! thanks!

try looking through the bios to make sure nothing could possibly keep it from working, the PCIE slot options, and just try changing some of the options up.

try setting the bios options to factory default to eliminate any overclock on your system from being the issue.

boot up with the non-working graphics card and check control panel-devices for things that are disabled under system devices.

make sure any IGP is disabled.

If the card is able to play in your friend's computer, your motherboard MAY have a busted PCIe slot.

his other PCIE slots don't allow the card to work either and he has another gtx 660 ti that works perfectly with the same PCIE slot.

so.....

I'm lost as to what it could be.

I'm gonna go with god hates you and magically you found a combination of graphics card and motherboard that are not compatible.

sorry,out of ideas..

for lack of any other hopes I'd try re-installing windows, maybe corrupted windows having issues communicating with graphics card.

That's very bizarre, I guess I would start with updating the BIOS but to be completely honest I'm not sure if that would have any effect. What are the specs on your machine? Brand of Mobo and GPU etc.

CPU - i7-3930K @ 4.5 Ghz | GPU - EVGA GTX 680 | MOBO - ASUS Sabertooth X79

RAM - 16 GB of Kingston HyperX @ 1600 MHz | SSD - 2 x Intel 520 series 180 GB SSD's (Raid 0)

HDD - WD 1 TB Black | Case - Corsair 600T | PSU - Corsair TX750 | Cooler - Corsair H100 | Sound - ASUS Xonar DGX

I had a similar problem with my graphics card on my rig. after hours of shenanigans, turned out the PCI-e slot was dud. the card would light up and fans would whizz. no display output tho. If the card works in your friends comp, i would assume its your mobo.

At a stretch you could try resetting the CMOS?

Otherwise i'm out of ideas. You've got a graphics card that doesn't work in your system but works in a friends. However the PCI slots are fine because you've used other cards in them. Your PSU has been replaced and both are fine. I'm stumped.
