damn.. maybe a worse chip than the guy above

Defiantly, he has a golden chip. I think mine is pretty average, maybe just slightly above. I have seen quite a few 290's struggle to get past 1100mhz so it's not too bad.

most 290s are average to good overclockers so i guess you are fine

My reference board's max OC changes with the fan profile. running on the stock fan settings, max OC is around ~1085 (won't maintain 1085 after a few minuets and will throttle). However with an aggressive fan profile it can hit ~1150. My chip seems a bit unstable without an aggressive fan profile however, I believe that may be due to the Elpida memory I have running too hot.

What are you guys getting for memory OC's? I havent push mine past 1300 because I don't know what an average is...

r9 290 tri x hynix, 1200mhz on core and 1570 on the memory.

Didn't touch voltages

Let me just say, I hate you. But, have you checked your ASIC quality, I want to see if it has any correlation with overclocks.

91%..idk what that means xD

Motherfucker you got a jackpot card. Mine's 76.9% and I paid extra for the Vapor-X.

I got a 78.7% off an XFX Reference card... lulz  :D

I got 77.3% on my Sapphire reference card, put an NZXT G10 and a Corsair H55 on it, it now runs comfortably at 1200/1680 with 20% Power Limit and +200mV

I honestly think people should take ASIC quality with a grain of salt. Even the editor at HardwareCanucks says it bullshit.

I almost always completely ignore it, A 20% overclock for a card with that ASIC is surprising. I always just push the card and keep adding more voltage if it artifacts, once it no longer stops artifacting, I drop it down ~10-20MHz. Mine would only go to 1200/1680 for long term clocks.
