Mixing Memory sizes

Go to solution Solved by Entropy,

Shouldn't be an issue.

Memory issues tend to be easily dealt with, nowadays.

I always heard that mixing DIMMs is bad, but if it's the same manufacturer, same speed, same model etc, but the only difference is the amount of memory, would that cause any issues?

I have an ITX build and went with a single 8gb stick of Crucial Ballistix Sport memory so I could still upgrade to in the future

I want to upgrade my memory but paying $80+ for 8gb of memory is insane, so I was thinking of adding a 4gb stick of the same memory for a total of 12gb.

Is this safe? would I have a loss in performance?
