Can't believe I'm saying this but it'll probably run better if you use bootcamp to install windows on the mac laptop and use that, it's much faster than a pentium D.

I feel so....... dirty........ ;)

i want to use it for more than minecraft, benchmarks, the last time i oc'ed it felt faster, games wich are lagging now who didnt lag half a year ago, and im already saving up money for an evga sr-2 with some xeons and 32 gigs of ram

Why would you buy an SR-2? It's already an outdated platform and it's still expensive as hell to buy xeons. Also 32gb of RAM is utterly pointless for any gaming use case.

If you're really saving for one, stop saving, buy one of the new haswell boards, stick 8gb RAM, an i5/i7 and a 660ti.

Honestly, this is starting to feel almost like a troll post. If it is, please do me a favour and stop wasting my time.

OCing a northwood? Better start inserting more control rods :p  You're going to have to accept that for now, your CPU is far, far too outdated for Minecraft and that you have to suspend all creeper killing activities for until you get a better rig. Don't allow the Pentium-D to go above 75C, having a working (but slow) processor is better than no processor at all. It's quite possible that your CPU is showing signs of degradation and that any further OCing will just cause it to be worse.

The build you're apparently wanting to get seems out of line with your expectations of a gaming rig, and far too overpriced. I would post in the "New builds and planning" section of the forums to get a better idea of what components to put in a newer rig before pulling the trigger on anything.

im not trolling, and an sr2 looks cool and i love overkill stuff, (im serious i love stupid and overkill stuff) and im not in that big of an hurry of an new pc, i have that as an pc to just play around with and go overclocking if im board, it crashes when i remove my 266mhz sticks of ram just because my "faster" ram is "broken" for serious work i have my mac, and i want to ry quad crossfire and have the cosmos 2 and go on for an while

I really wouldn't bother with quad Crossfire - way too many issues with driver support that you can find yourself performing worse than with 3 cards. I'm also seriously surprised you got that CPU that high too.

Anyway, for Minecraft why not just play on your Mac? It's supported on there.

Was about to say exactly that. I play minecraft on my 2009 iMac perfectly fine at 50-60 fps.

To OP: Your mac mini would run it just fine with those specs. Why use an outdated dying computer when you have a perfectly capable mac? You do realise you can game on a mac regardless of what people may say, I do it all the time.

It's natively supported on mac? Why are we even having this conversation.....

*Thanks to those who pointed that out, I'm not a minecrafter but it's good to know.
