If it's in your budget get it. That power supply is overkill unless you are overclocking. Low profile RAM helps with clearance issues so if your cooler goes over the RAM slots get it, but you didn't mention a cooler so I'm guessing stock? If that's the case you won't be Overclocking so a 550W PSU will do and LP RAM won't matter, you can get normal RAM.

You can get a legit Windows 8 key dirt cheap from here  https://www.g2a.com/microsoft-windows-8-professional-32-64-bit-cd-key-global.html

Windows 8 Pro =/= Windows 7 Ultimate.

Aside from that, nice build OP. Only other thing which would be nice is an SSD, to have as your main drive, even a 120GB SSD would be good, and using that SATA as storage.

Instead of the GTX 770 I would go with an R9 290. Yes it runs a but hotter than the GTX 770 but it the R9 290 (Sapphire Tri-x) runs just fine (nothing extreme like 90 degress) and in my country at least (netherlands) it costs the same but the R9 290 packs a much bigger punch than the GTX 770 especially if you're going to run higher than 1080p or multi-monitor.

I might get another graphics card in the future. That's why I have a such good power supply. It will probably be a 980 or 970. Do you think that the Power supply can handle that?

Yup powersupply is a bit overkill, but it'll work :) If it were up to me i would go for a 500W power supply and try to squeeze in a small SSD hard drive for booting windows

Nobody knows what the power draws one those cards will be yet, so no idea :) 800-series will probably be more power efficient / require less power compared to the current 700-series graphics cards

EDIT: cool little web page for calculating your PSU needs: http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculator.jsp

To be fair no one will know the draws of them cards and in all fairness you will probably upgrade the entire PC by then if you can afford it if not then it'll just be a PSU and GPU upgrade which you can save for, but like I said if it's all in your budget get it just try throw in an SSD for Windows it'll make a world of difference.

If you're going to stick to the GTX 770 500W would be enough but I'd take 550-600 just to be sure. That same 550-600 should also be enough if you're going to take an R9 290 instead.

OP, that PSU you chose is fine. You would only save maybe $25/£20 for a cheaper PSU, when the extra ~150W headroom is not something to scoff at. Plus, if you fancy doing crossfire/SLI in the future, you'll need those extra pci-e power connectors, and wattage. Although i always recommend using a single powerful card, rather than sli/xfire. That is unless you are a rich mofo and have money to burn, lol.

Thanks for the help man! I'm pretty happy with my own build. I think I will stick with it. Windows 9 has been rumored, so I might wait for it and buy it.
