Computer Wont Post

Ok I was troubleshooting a computer for my mothers work as it would cut on but nothing would come up on the monitor.

So taking it apart I found that I had a speaker then I realized I was not posting. It cuts on fine fans spin up HDD, Spins up etc.

 

Any ideas why it would not post?

 

I tried taking all the RAM out

disconnected the HDD, CD Drive and Floppy

Even tried a different PSU

Tried the BOIS in recovery mode (there was some jumper for it)

 

Today Im going back with an extra GPU thought maybe the on-board Graphics may have died. if its not that I dont know what it is. My last guess Is that the motherboard is fried.

 

If you have idea that I should try please post them they are greatly appreciated.

Clean the gold contacts on the RAM (and also the GPU), try them out one by one, and then report back.

Whats the model number for the machine? It might be that the machine is actually posting. I've seen machines that refuse to display to a certain output if there's nothing plugged into the primary display out. *cough*

Make sure that the reset button is not stuck "ON". Disconnect it from the motherboard to check.

Does the system.shut down and restart..?..or just sit there with no HDD activity..you should hear/feel a mechanical HDD spin up then slow down..but not fast cycle.Could you tell us the system specs. MB,GPU, RAM, PSU OS...etc..Thanks
