I am working on a pretty basic themed build.  The idea is two fold.

1: Build a solid no compromise system with the ability to expand it later if needed.

2: Use as few companies as possible for the internal components.

Asus and Corsair seem to provide the best options for what I am looking for.

My initial plans are this:

http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=25721886

I am however open to any and all suggestions and ideas. Changes, improvements.  Overkills that I should back off on....  That sort of thing.

I am waiting for the Maximus VII Formula to use as my logic board.

The biggest question mark right now is the case.  I actually started a thread in the cases section about that.  I am torn between the 750D that is in that wish list or the 760T, or waiting for the 780T.

I am also considering waiting for the Nvidia 880 series GPUs

The system will be used primarily for gaming.  I play everything from SC2 to Mechwarrior online to Titanfall.

I also game at 1440P and am currently using a 27" Apple Cinema display.

Tell my tale to those who ask. Tell it truly; the ill deeds along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly.

I would ditch the front base. Other than the bling bling are you really going to be checking the multiplier for your CPU when you open starcraft?

1200W seems overkill for single 780ti

Dont get an SSHD when you have 1.2 TB of ssd storage

I wouldn't get a g230. Get a real headphone and modmic

Honestly I went 10 over 110 because I prefer the looks and performance seems to be the same.

You are probably right on the front base. It looks cool but I don't know if I would ever use it. No compromise doesn't mean waste money. Haha.

The 1200 is more of a fire proofing thing. In case I ever went sli 780ti. What would you suggest power wise in that case?

And honestly on storage I am tempted to go pure SSD. I have a large game collection but I have to wonder if I couldn't just make it work...

And I didn't list peripherals because I already have a Logitech G710+ keyboard and G700 mouse.

Thank you for all the advice so far!

You could go with the AX 860i. It's like a suit that fits snug around a 780 Ti SLI and some overclocks if you catch my drift. :D

Depends on how much you want to spend. I would go with the 1200i if i could. Also +1 for SSD only. :D

who cares...

the PSU is one of those places I really don't want to cut it close.  So I am sticking with the 1200 unless the 860 is enough power for sure.   :D   I have a 1000 Watt EVGA in my current build that would be perfect,  but that would break the theme.

I am really tempted to go the all SSD route.   Cutting the Front base and Hard drive I had in there goes a long way towards the cost of two more 512 SSDs.  that would give me enough storage.   My steam Library is huge and add to that my origin, blizzard, and other games and they add up quickly.  so 1TB isn't enough.  2 However should do it.

The only reason I put the G230 in there is that I currently use G930s.   And I love the way they fit.   I am open to other headphones that have large enough ear cups.   Most I have tried are not as comfortable to wear for long gaming sessions.  As with everything else please make recommendations.   I am always looking to learn out more.

860 really is enough. Nvidia recommends 600W.

You dont need 7 fans. Thats going to be somewhat noisy. The case and h105 come with fans.

Get windows from g2a its MUCH cheaper. Search on the forums for that.

Go to audio forum and they will help you select something nice.

860 Even if I decide to go SLI and overclock the CPU?  Not that I am complaining if that is the case.

The fan upgrades was more just for aesthetics.  I like the way they look.  But you are right.  I don't need 2 SP120s.  I think originally I was thinking about push/pull and just never changed it.

I will head over to the audio sections and read up.   Thanks!
