Building a cheap computer for work. Needs to run office and browsers relatively quick.

I have a case, psu (430w) and everything else needed. Looking to spend around 200 for both the cpu and motherboard combined.

Thanks for any suggestions or advice.

If it's just for work and you want it to be quick without a lot of actual power under it, you'd probably be more satisfied going with an APU (Trinity/Richland A8s are a good choice) or non-overclockable i3 with a cheap board and save some money for an SSD.

What size mobo? Also, may we know the rest of the PC specs, for compatibility

the case is just a mid sized tower so i would prefer a smaller mobo.

atm i have an outdated i3 cpu on a garbage gigabyte mobo. hooked up is 500g hard drive (wd), a single 120mm fan in the back (will be getting 2 more to put in the front of the case), and no gpu.

I would try to stretch to an A8. It's the best bang for the buck out of the APUs. That being said though, the old i3's, even the first-gens, aren't that bad. Just popping in an SSD makes a huge difference
