Hey guys,

One of my friends is adamantly trying to get me to buy this Asus - http://www.ncix.com/detail/asus-geforce-gtx-760-directcu-de-85679.htm - because he says the cooling system is the best around and it's quiet, which are both things I want. I've heard terrible things about ASUS RMA service though, so I'm quite hesitant to buy anything from them aside from my mobo which has a known software issue, but it has a patch to fix it. I was interested in the EVGA 760 but I've heard they run really loud which will bug me if it's on when I'm trying to sleep. Does anyone know of any 760 that may be better than the ASUS? This and my PSU are the last parts I will be ordering, and for a PSU I'm going Seasonic G Series 650W.

EVGA ACX: Not loud when I had it. With headphones it's fine. When you're trying to sleep I'm assuming the GPU is idling, so it is very quiet.

for budget go for the MSI gtx 760

I'm not going for budget, it's just that the 770 is over $100 more than the 760 and I don't think I need that kind of power since I'm not primarily a gamer. I do a lot of art and design stuff and want to start doing it digitally now.

Thanks everyone! Would you guys happen to know how EVGA's warranty works? I've found some mixed answers online, even after looking at EVGA's own site. From what I've gathered, it's a 3 year warranty unless I register it within the first 30 days, and then it becomes either a 10yr or a lifetime warranty, but I'm not sure which. Do any of you know for sure? @Admiaczking @ @GingerbreadPK @Jodomcfrodo

I'll be running two 1080p monitors if this makes a difference, but when gaming I will only be using one of them.

I registered my 780 TI and I've had issues where my GPU would crash whenever I added even +1 mhz. I ended up sending it back to Amazon but the people emailing me from EVGA were responsive. I was in the wrong in this because you only get the rated clock speeds but they still tried to help. If you ever have issues, they will definitely help you out. The warranty is 5 years if I remember correctly.

I don't know anything about that but I do know they have amazing customer support that will help with anything.

Sorry if I sounded rude, I didn't mean to. :) - I looked at MSI as well when I first started to plan this build but it came down to ASUS vs EVGA for me, because ASUS tends to build amazing products when you don't get a DOA and EVGA has far superior customer support and also great quality.
