hi, I'm from New Zealand and I'm going to build my first PC soon but I'm not sure about what parts. I want to be able to play battlefield 4 1080p mid settings i don't mind to much, need for speed and racing simulator. I need quite a lot of storage because i have lots of music/movies and i want to start doing YouTube game play videos. I have about $850 Us dollars not including mouse, keyboard etc etc.

I already have a bitfenix shinobi case and a Gigabyte GA-H97M-D3H which i don't really like either but I'm going to use it just because i have a small budget.

what do you think of this build

CPU: i5-4440

Ram: 16 GB (overkill?)

GPU: GTX 760

HD: WD Blue 1 TB

SSD: Adata 128 GB

PSU: ???

Any Suggestions?

Do I need an optical drive or not?

I said I live in New Zealand so a lot of stuff isn't available here I dont think MSI is unless i order it from overseas or something.

Cheers.

Ram is overkill, go for 8 (2x4) GB

For the PSU, I suggest brands like Seasonic, Corsair

My current rig for entertainment/gaming: i5 4570 3,2GHz; MSI B85M-E45; ZOTAC GTX760 AMP!; 8GB (2x4GB) by Kingston; Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200rpm; Corsair 200R, Corsair VS650; Dell U2312HM, Samsung DVD R/W optical drive; CM Devastator; Corsair MM400 gaming pad

Okay i will do 8 gb

is the 760 okay for 2 screens and battlefield 4 and new games coming out

I don't know about 2 screens, but my 760, with a little bit of oc, does a very well done on near-max setting at 1080p pretty much everything

Hi Piplup, understand that you're trying to build a gaming PC with budget wise. But it would be great that if you can provide the breakdown price for each part so that we can look into your balance from the budget and suggest for better part. Here's my suggestion for you. I would recommend you to swap the WD Blue with WD Black because, it's built with technology whereby it provides bigger storage and performance in gaming experience which you need. As compared to WD Blue, it's built for everyday computer/storage, and WD Green is a power saving drive which mainly used for second storage. Hope this helps.
