Looking for some O-Rings

I have a Razer Blackwidow, and im looking to getting to getting some O-rings to make it quieter. Although when I was looking around I noticed 2 things that Im not too sure about.

 

1. There is 2mm O-Rings and 4mm O-Rings, would a smaller travel distance make it faster to type?

2. There has been some people who have been saying that the O ring blocks some of the backlight from keyboards, how much of a block is it? (pics anyone?)

1) yes

2) well it depends where your LED is on the keyboard. if so count up 2/4mm and see how much of the Diode it cover's.

I personally Don't find the o-rings affect the backlight of my keyboard (blackwidow ult. 2013), but this would depend on where the text is printed on each key. As for typing speed, technically a smaller travel would make it faster but more importantly you have to adjust to the different travel distance as instead of having a solid stop when bottoming out it is more bouncy, with no true defined end point. It comes down to how heavy you type etc.

They're 0.2 and 0.4 mm, otherwise they'd be extremely difficult to type with. :lol: They don't decrease the travel distance to actuation, so you're not going to type any faster unless placebo kicks in and you start using the tactile feedback the switches offer. The O-rings don't really make the keyboard any quieter either if you bottom out, it's just a different type of noise on the bottom with the same noise upon release.
