i am looking to get into water cooling as i started pushing my cpu more and more, also the look of water cooling is just so beast. as i am a beginer i was looking for kits that come as one package(not clossed loop solutions) and after looking this caught my eye...

as i am new i was wondering if this is a good idea or would i be better just getting the parts all seperate, i am on a budget of £200

Do not buy kits. There are various reasons for this. I should start off by saying there is nothing bad with a kit. It will work properly and would will have a loop by the end of it. However, in kits the parts you get are typically low-end. I would never recommend a non-laing pump for a loop. Laing pumps are known for being quiet and reliable working for years without any issues. This is just an example. Kits tend to have lower quality everything. Secondly when buying a kit you will not be able to prioritise what you want in a loop. Maybe you are focusing on performance, maybe on looks? A kit will not give you this choice.

Most importantly a kit will not let you learn. Believe me when I say water cooling is a big investment, not only of money but also of time. If you feel that taking your time to look up components and make a parts list and doing research is something you would rather not do then you will be in for a shock later on. If you ever have a problem with your loop you will be much better placed after you have done your research and after selecting your own parts.

Therefore I advise you to go to the two stickys HERE and HERE and spend time reading about watercooling, then make a parts list and draw a diagram of what your loop is going to be, then ask us to review your parts and let you know what we think of the parts you have chosen.

thanks for the quick reply. im just going for a cpu loop but i hope to expand to my gpu when i have more time and money. what brands would you recomend for a relitively cheap loop

Like Ghost said, do some research and read over the two sticky's (here & here). If you can't dedicate the time to find the components for a loop you want, it's going to be a tall order to spend the time to make the loop properly.

Laing Pump is a must, otherwise expanding will be an issue. The rest is your choice.

Best if you make a list for me and I either say its all fine or tell you what you should spend more/less on.

the CPU block is a CPU block, within the top reviewed and tested. the pump is a good pump,

but there are better if you plan to add a GPU later. use the D5 for more than one block.

the reservoir is poop. hard to fill, will never fill 100%, tight on fittings, just not a great choice

to use when there are better.

Could you please make diagram of your loop? This not only helps us understand what you want but it also helps you to understand what you want better and makes it easy to spot potential flaws in a loop.

To do this simply grab a 2D side on snap of your case. (Just type your case name into google images and scroll down a bit till you find one, it should be there.) Then go to a photo editing program and simply put rectangles where you would like to place your radiators, blocks, reservoirs, pumps and tubing. For blocks use blue, for radiators use red and anything else use grey and for tubing use orange/brown lines with an arrow to point out the intended flow direction of your loop. There is no need to put fans in. This forum has an upload function or you can use an image sharing site and embed the picture into your post. This is an example of this from my personal loop: http://i.imgur.com/MynbfCp.jpg

Also, please do not use links, just list names of products. It is much faster. We know what costs how much and takes a second to check it if we forget. ;)
