I have a 300R and a 3570K. I want to do a watercooling loop for it but i don't think I can with this case. Currently the only thing I think I can fit in here is a thick single 120MM rad. I know people say you can put a H100 in this case but I don't want to have height issues because I have high profile ram. What should I do?

Get a ruler and measure for us the distance between the top of the case and the first thing that would get in the way of any fans. (By this i mean anything that is directly below any of the fan holes. This will most likely be ram or VRM.

Then Take 25mm of that distance because that is the standard size of a fan. The distance you are left with is the maximum thickens of a radiator in your case. Give us this distance.

without full-blown roof modifications to make a radiator sit in the roof, it isn't worth

it. H80/i is the only realistic way (and not a good one). honestly, keep the case as

a backup or server and buy a better optioned case. it wont have to cost a lot.

a fractal design R4 are on specials weekly.. on a whim i bought a 200r to make

a frontal 360 rad mod..  which can be done on the 300r, but it isn't worth the blades

or cut-off wheels to ruin a good air case.

You may get a better cooling loop if you get a 240 XT45 or UT60 for the top and a thick 80mm 120 for the back making it a 360 and a 5.25 bay reservoir/pump combo like the XSPC x720 v4.
That would be a good cooling setup and not to hard to set up.

the problem with the 300r is the fact that if you use the rear i/o fan for a radiator, the roof rad will not fit.

put a radiator in the roof, the rear i/o will not hold a radiator and maybe not even a fan. most use the

H60/70/80/80i, and any single 120 fan/rad solution. most are settling for what they can bolt in the chassis.

the 300r has a low slung roof (corsair boo-boo) and won't hold a H100/i without MOSFET/RAM

interferences. trying to run a thicker radiator than 27mm (H100) like a 30 or 45, they simply won't allow

them to fit with any kind of mother board with fans inside the case.

some have resorted to koolance's 240 fan bump (or shroud) or using a 240 on the front and 360 exterior

radiator.

for a CPU loop i usually don't recommend the x750 pump. the DDC or D5 are overkill, but far less

prone to pump failure over the x750.

a radiator mounted outside of the case..

Waterboxes like singularity computers did are nicer. :3

Well if he can't fit the thick 120 mm radiator at the back the he should look to a 280mm radiator on top only and because of space he can still use a dual 5.25 bay res/pump combo, it doesn't have to be the x750 they have others that use the D5 and alphacool has the single 5.25 bay res/pump combo with the DDC pump. I had a Bitfenix Outlaw last year and i got a 240mm up top and a single 120mm rad on the bottom with the same x750 v4 from XSPC and i had no problems but i had to use some 45 and 90 degree angled fittings to avoid kinks.

So i am sure he can get it done in that case.
