small upgrade

Go to solution Solved by SpyRosL,

I'm open for any advice! pls :)

I use $ so it would be more easy for you guys to understand the situation. I'm from E.U, the MAX LIMIT it can go would be there $800-$850

I'm sure both cpu's could open paint, vegas or even cs-x .. so I did said every day use.. and a rly high end gamic pc would do a perfect job in all that is out there. it doesnt rly have to be named gaming or working, cuz very few are working hard as hollywood desinger and s**t. about the oc, perhaps not right now..

hmm.. anything that you can suggest? pls do so.

I see.For editing i assume it's casual. I'd go with 8320 because it's an underclocked 8350 and maybe oc it to the 8350 standarts. Not necessary but saves money for the exact same performance.

As for the motherboard,you don't have to spend so much money on it because it doesn't affect performance at all. Look something in the 100e/$ price range.(ASUS M5A99FX PRO or GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3).

Instead of the 270x,get the 270. Same cards but the 270 is underclocked. Again,overclock it a little bit(the easiest thing in the world and not necessary) and have the exact same performance with less money.

ADD A BIG ASS SSD IN THERE BECAUSE SSD IS LOVE!!

You wanted the best bang for your buck and you got it.

Hi,

..a friend is thinking to make a small upgrade on his old pc but the budged is quite  low. I wanna know which would do "best", price/performance for every day use.. btw there will be no oc'ing whatsoever. Don't be a fanboy pls. By getting this things he borrowed $300 from her sis alrdy! :D.. But tell me shall we do this or wait for new things if there will be any.

1.'cpu' - AMD FX 8350 --> 'mb' Asus Corsshair V Formula-Z --> 'gc' - r9 270x = $836.87

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2.'cpu' - i5 4690k         -->'mb' Gygabyte X97X SOC              --> 'gc' - r9 270x = $934.85 + $97.98

The first one is the best bang for the buck, even though it is horribly balanced.

Eeh AMD or intel?

Intel : 4690k with an MSI Z97 Gaming 5. And for GPU stay with AMD go for the R9 280x or maybe a R9 290. Dont buy a reference. AMD cards are cheaper in my country.

Then go with a 4690 or 4670. Not a K version. 450 that is expensive.

Get an 8320, a decent 990FX motherboard, and a better video card (maybe a 280?).
