PCI Express Riser

My system is Micro ATX, and I am considering doing crossfire. The issue that I have with this is that, because of the placement of my 8x slots, I would not be able to install my wifi card.

Because of this, would it be possible to get a PCI Express riser and put it in the PCIe 4x slot that is obscured by my second gpu? I would then be able to put the wifi card in my 5th expansion slot.

The motherboard is the Gigabyte Z97MX Gaming 5 and the case is the Corsair Obsidian 350D.

Yes.

 

You can find them quite cheap as litecoin miners stopped buying them for washing basket mining rigs.

Why not use wifi usb instead of pci? People reported to have some issues with risers.

I already have the wifi card, buying a usb would just be more money that I would have to spend.
