Hello ladies and gentleman of the forum. This is my first post here and I'll start my journey on this forum by introducing myself. But first let me excuse myself for my horrible English. My bad grammar is bad and I'm ashamed. Without any further ado let's get to it.

 

My name is Egoist because I like Gultiy Crown and I'm not creative.

I was born on 15^th February 1998 in Germany more precisely Cologne even more precisely I was born in an hospital in Holweide along side my jackass of a brother. I lived a easy and lighthearted life until I was around 5 years old. My mother had been battling cancer for 6 years and the symptoms became more and more apparent. Obviously 5 year old me did not know that. I just knew that she was in the hospital and whenever I would go see her I would be way to distracted by television. I remember that I was there once and there would be 'Lucky Luke' on the TV.
While I was born and raised in Germany I am French and that's why I didn't have any relatives in Germany and had to live with my father (and my older sister and my brother). He was already a rather scary man at that point. Or at least I think so looking back. Eventually my mother came back out of the hospital and then there is one thing I remember ( I don't actually have a lot of memories of the time when I was sub 10 years old) I got a Gameboy-color from my mother and my brother also got one. (At the end my father broke my Gamboy-color by smashing it on the floor because my jackass of a brother was playing with it and wouldn't come to eat. So at the end I had a broken Gameboy and his one worked. Thanks asshole.) I would play Pokémon Blue and I was a Pokémon Master in no time. Good times. That was probably my first contact with gaming except for learning-games. Then once I had grown a little older I went to school and I did great. I excelled in Maths. I would do my sisters homework for fun. (She was tree grades higher than I was) I was also halfway trough the math-book after two days. ( I actually got 'punished' for that. I was told to not do that by my teacher. At that time I did consider this a punishment.) Then roughly a year or so later I was at school playing hockey. I was called out of the class and then I was driven somewhere with a taxi. It turned out to be a hospital. My mother had died. Fast forward some time (some time because I'm not actually sure how long.) We moved in another apartment because my father was a lazy ass bastard that couldn't get a job. (We used to live in a pretty rich part of Cologne as my mother made a lot of money translating stuff for the 'Deutsche Welle' in seven different languages. At least that's what I have been told by my father. Not so sure how much that can be trusted) I went to another school and the kids there where assholes. I started getting more and more aggressive because these kids would call me names and they would especially call me 'Son of a bitch' (At that point I would still care about that) so I would go fucking apeshit about that. I would beat them up. My grades would become worse but they would still be decent. (Average of B )   I would still be the best in math in class. Then when I passed 4^th grade I would go to a French/German school. A gymnasium which is pretty much the best you can go to after 4^th grade excluding schools for gifted kids. Then with a violent father at home my grades would go down at an insane rate. Soon I would be in the 6^th grade and have an average of 3 C. I would also stop caring about school. I would become addicted to a game called 'Runescape' (It's not all bad tho. I learned how to be social in Runescape. I learned how to make 'friends' in Runescape although I still have a problem with the word friend. I just can't find a good definition for it. Maybe you guys can come up with one. Most of my social competences were developed while playing Runescape. Fast forward to one day when I was in the 8^th grade. I just couldn't stand those people anymore so 13 year old me went to the youth welfare office (Thanks Google ) And they send me to a home for kids and some of you may think that it would awful but no it wasn't. I was actually much better than I expected. OK the rules where a little severe (I had to go to bed at 9:00 pm which is pretty damn early.) but the folks where kind. After a month I turned 14 and I would have had to leave the kids home (not even sure if that's how you say it. I doubt it.) and go to a home for teens. My father would come by and he said that he would change. (Likely because they wouldn't give him any money for me anymore.) So I went back. After 3 hours I was back at the youth welfare office and they would send me to a place called 'UpStairs' in the rather rich part of Cologne I used to live as kid. The people there where very different. The adults that would pay attention to us where still nice (Most of them) but the other teenagers would trick me into lending them money and they would steal my stuff. But I didn't understand that until a half year later. I would be thinking that they are my 'friends' and I just payed for stuff because I wanted to do so. (I had a rather large sum of money given to me by my grandparents on my bank account) Some would also just insult me (Yep they called me 'Son of a bitch' as well but that was time where I understood that it made absolutely no sense to care about a person you barely remember anything about.) or try to beat me. At the end of that half year I would have given 400€ to different people in total thinking that I would get it back and I probably spend another 500€ paying for random junk when I was outside with them. I haven't got any of that money back. But I guess that's the price I payed for being naive at that point. When I think about it I also got scammed in Runescape multiple times. I actually tried playing Runescape again a while ago and holy shit it sucks bad. So that's that. During those six months my grade got worse and worse. My average dropped down to 4 (D). I barley passed. After those six months I moved from 'UpStairs' to another home for teens in the actual street I lived in as a kid. I have been living there for two years now. The people here are nice. The location is nice too. (12 minutes with the tram and 15 with the bike to get to school) My grades went back up again to average of 2.2 ( B) but there is still room to improve. My aggressions also vanished I passed the 10^th grade and now I'm up for the 11^th grade after vacation.

 

That's pretty much my story up to this point. A summary of my life if you will.

 

You may be sitting there asking yourself 'Why is he giving us so much personal information?' and let me answer your question : Because I can.

 

Some information why I'm here: Thanks to my grandparents and me saving up money I now have 5000€ to replace my crappy setup and get a better one. You guys seem to be pretty cool and you might be able to help me. I have following Linus for a while and I have already upgraded some computers and disassembled other ones to clean them. But I have never installed a CPU, applied thermal compound or installed a CPU cooler. I'm also not very sure what monitor to get. But that's another topic.
