I'll be honest, I'm tired of searching for blue keyboards. The only one that is available to me is the Quickfire TK and I don't like the look of it, I can't find the Ducky Shine 3 anywhere, and I was heartbroken when I heard that the aluminum K70 was gone forever, so I decided that a Razer keyboard would be great. So I have a two questions:

1.) What is your opinion of the Razer BlackWidow? Don't just tell me that Razer is overpriced blah blah blah.

2.) So why is the Blackwidow Ultimate $40 USD more than the normal Blackwidow? It seems that the $100 Blackwidow is not backlit and the BlackWidow Ultimate is.

The keyboard looks noice so I need you all to answer these questions. Thanks!

He can't find the Ducky anywhere so I assume he's looking in physical stores.

I like my Blackwidow Tournament Edition with MX Blues. I personally don't like the new green Razer Key switches but that's just personal opinion.

I tried them at best buy and tried Blues at Microcenter and I don't mind the difference. Of course it's your opinion

Don't buy a Razer keyboard.

It's not because of any hate on Razer's build quality or any of that shit. It's because they switched from Cherry MX switches to cheaper, imitation Kailhua switches. They feel similar to MX Blues, but have a different variance in feel (one key may feel completely different from the other.)

The worst part about this is that they took all of the possible savings from switching to a cheaper supplier without passing any of it on to the consumer, so you are paying the same for *theoretically* a worse keyboard.

Maybe I should've been more specific, I was looking for a blue backlit keyboard with MX Blues and the Ducky fit that perfectly but I couldn't find it. The Razer BW looks really nice and I have a DeathAdder so I am not looking for a blue keyboard anymore.

Any bad things about the BlackWidow that any of you know of?

Nothing bad except for the switch change. I personally wouldn't spend so much on a Kailh keyboard, but there is nothing wrong with doing so.

I have a black widow ultimate. It's awesome for my opinion. very clicky, tactile feeling and it's very solid too. It's matte black finish is fingerprint resistant although, the lights are very bright and sometimes hurts your eyes when the room is dark and it's challenging to clean the keyboard(imo). recommend the BWU if you can afford it. I don't know the difference of the BW and BWU other than the BWU having those backlighting.

I am using the K95 for many months and i really LOVE the scrolling wheel and i can't think i will ever buy a keyboard without one.
So, my recommendation would be the K70, but it's sad you can't find it. Why don't you wait for K70 RGBs? It's easier to clean, it has better build quality, has RGB LEDs and comes with extra qwer, wasd, 123456, key caps. All these are big bonuses over the blackwidow and if you are going to spend that much money, why wouldn't you go for the more premium "stuff"?
Either way, BlackWidow or K70 are both great keyboards and the final decision is up to you. You can't go wrong with these keyboards, so you will enjoy whatever you pick. :D
