So I would consider myself skilled in tech troubleshooting, repair, setup but at work sometimes I go dumb. I have always done contract work for companies and get things done efficiently and skillfully. But about a year ago one of the companies I used to do contract work for hired me full time and now I sometimes have to work with other techs and sometimes I feel like I stumble around some computer issues that I should have no trouble with. Anyone else have this problem?

Computers are weird sometimes. Going through a diagnostic process, even if long, is the best and most efficient way of troubleshooting a computer.

When you are aware of common symptoms you've experienced in the past it shortens the length it takes to diagnose a computer. It takes a lot of experience and it takes passion and dedication to somehow "communicate" with the software and hardware you are dealing with. Doctors feel the same way too except they go the cheap route and offer prescription medications to see if the symptoms go away and then they give you a referral to a specialist.

If you ever seen Dr House, a symptom could be a dozen things and that also applies to technology. The fun is figuring out the cause and it feels so damn rewarding.

Yes. I'm incredibly socially awkward around other people. I forget stuff, I stumble through conversation, it sucks.  You're not alone though.
