R9 290 problem

hi there ,

 

today i finally got my r9 290 and i could finally play btf 4 on ultra .

i installed the latest drivers and optimized the settings to ultra on 1080p

 

when i started bf4 i enabled fraps to see my fps .

then i saw a minumum of 34 fps and a max of  73fps on a 64 player server .

how the hell is this possible i've seen gameplay and people get over 90fps

is my cpu this weak it shouldn't be a verry big bottleneck 

 

do you guys have any tips or tricks for me ?

i enabled mantle and  i have a i7 860 not overclocked because my mobo doens't support oc

What cpu do you have and what map game/mode?

I had a 290x and sometimes I was playing on 70 fps average.

did you set it to mantel ?

 

also BF4 on ultra does nothing really just eats your fps, I have a r9 290 I play on high 100+ fps, some maps do give a low fps due to all the textures etc on map.

A lot of people benchmark it with no AA or with minimum field of view, so it obviously gets better fps.
Dw, same thing happens to me, mine's always above 60, but sometimes it stays below 80.
It really depends on the server you're playing on

do you have msaa or something of the likes enabled. msaa uses cpu for aa. fxaa uses gpu for aa. i dont play bf so dont know what flavors they offer.

 

it seems like a cpu issue, just disable any options that use cpu power and you will be fine
