Do-it-all home server

Yeah if you run VM's but your going to need a i7 or a quad-core Xeon with hyperthreading.

Kidding me? I have same amount of stuff running on a pentium downstairs. With a FTB server and a BungeeCord network with around 11~ players on it.

I am a happy wuffy

Nah, I have this. Running Minecraft server, plus multiple other services (file, dhcp, web, ssh, web monitoring etc). Running at about 10% capacity.

Yeah, I kinda realized after that a Minecraft server can run on practically nothing, a haswell i3 could likely handle all of it and still have some overhead.

There's really no need to run them as VM's unless one of his servers needs a specific (meaning non Windows) server OS installed.

Running them in VMs also makes it easier to do backups, move them to other hardware and change resource allocation.

I doubt OP will need to do any of that though.
