Hey,

My brother is worried about this Pc's cooling, and is looking to add few more fans. Case currently has one in front, top and back, all 140mm. Problems is that the case only has three fan connectors. What is the ideal way to get more connectors? Is there some kind cable that would split one of the 3pin connectors? Would it give enought power to 140mm fans?

Plan is to add one fan to front and one to side panel.

He has Fractal design (Thor?) case. This looks pretty close, couldn't find the his actual case: http://www.fractal-design.com/media/332581a1-a177-4bd7-b6ee-29746564882b

For fan splitters, I use two of these.

In another rig I built (sold), I used this for a fan controller, and still used a couple motherboard fan connectors controlled with AI Suite.

I really wish that we'd just make organic hardware already, that grows and adapts to the demands it needs to meet. That way, grannies' computers can be floppy sacks of organicness and the 12 year old Minecrafters will look like the guys that only do bicep curls, and the nerdy programmers will finally have justice, with their body-builder rigs that skipped leg day.

It is called fan splitter, just find one that suits you the best :)

Btw did he not using motherboard headers ?

I didn't actually check the mobo . Still in learning phase of pc building/componets.

I checked and there are three spots labeled: Sysfan (1-4) free. Can i just slap the fans on these connectors whitout any problems?

It's fine, everybody gotta start somewhere :)

Sysfan means system fan and it is spot for case fans. So yeah no problems there :)

@Jaska95 Some tips for you :)

Every motherboard should have a fan header marked CPU FAN. That is used for CPU coolers.

You can use 4 pin fan on 3 pin header on MOBO, but you loose the PWM functions (Here it is because MOBO header doesn't support it)

You can also use 3 pin fan on 4 pin MOBO header, same thing no PWM functions (Here it is because the fan doesn't have it)

Hope this will help you :)
