Optical sound output help needed.

Hi guys,

Just built my PC I have a asus z97k motherboard that does not have a digital output. I can play sound through my tv but want to use my turtle beach x41 7.1 surround sound headset (has optical out and red & white audio cables) for nighttime gaming.

I have my PC connected to my samsung 55UED8000 (UK model), this tv does have a optical digital out. What are my options ?

Do I need a dedicated sound card with optical out.

Can I use my tv as my HDMI cable from GPU is connected to tv.

Is they any converters that could help

Any other ideas would be great. Thanks :-)
