You don't have to wipe anything just get a usb adapter and done. I have an old 500gb laptop drive I use as storage and it still has vista/7 on it.

I have heard that it is possible to use laptop hdd as a storage device but first you have wipe out the oem os in the hdd. How would i do that?

I just want storage and i dont really care about speed soo

You could wipe it just to add more space, the only thing is you will have to take privileges in order to change anything that had to do with the old os.

The drive works?

Does device manager show anything?

How about your bios?

I am not too sure if the drive works. I ripped it out of my laptop, which is like 4 years old. Device mangaer and bios shows nothing.

it may be a dead drive, It having a previous version of windows is irrelevant to the bios. Have you tried removing the sata cord from your current hdd and trying to see if it pops up in the bios then?

Did that and yes it does pop back in bios. I'm assuming the drive is dead :( My secret stash for some stimulation will die with me hehehehehehe.

Wait it's not dead if it does pop up, that means it still functions.

I had a few questions like that but didn't want to ask because I thought they were insulting lol

Everyone makes mistakes.

Yea, it's true.

So I'm at work a few years back and I'm fixing this ladies computer the exact issue I don't remember lol but it wouldn't turn on. I think it needed a new mobo but none the less we get it fixed run a few tests to make sure it's 100% clear. Lady comes to pick it up a week after so she is complaining because it wasn't fast enough and I tried to explain to her we needed parts shipped to us. So she gets it home calls about an hour later and is ripping me a new as*hole for no reason so I ask her to calm down and what kind of issue are you having?  she replies you dumb*ss people didn't fix my computer it's still not turning on so we go over a few things with her and I ask is it on and the lady replies what do you think I'm stupid "I wanted to say yes lol"  she say yes I plugged it in. I said this a little arrogant "is the led on mam?" she replies well no that's how I know it won't turn on. The dumb b*tch didn't press the power button......
