Atom Processor with NAS.

Go to solution Solved by qwertywarrior,

OP if u want a less powerful atom version than the one above

the Thecus N5550 might suite you  for 400$ (5 bays  , raid)

Has anyone tried building an NAS using Intel atom processor as processor? I figured the small power requirement of the CPU will be efficient since the NAS will be turned on 24/7.

My system: CPU: Intel i5 6500; Mobo: H110M-k; GPU: Nvidia GT 730; Memory: 16 GB; HDD: 2x 1TB HDD;

The FreeNAS Mini comes with a C2550D4I motherboard in it, which has an embedded Atom processor, so yeah. I'm pretty sure a lot of people have done it.
