Hello

Recently I've begun streaming CS:Go for kicks and giggles at 1080p/60fps. Internet isn't a problem, as to I have a 40mb/s up, and I had thought my PC wasn't going to be an issue either, but the constantly fluctuating fps between 30 and 210 says otherwise.

Applicable Specs:

CPU: i7 4770k

GPU: GTX 780ti (reference)

RAM: 16gb Dommy Platinums

CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i

Streaming software: OBS

Whenever I'm streaming, my CPU goes to 100% load and gets to ~78-84c. I expected it to reach 100% load but I didn't expect the massive drop in fps. I'm using x264 for video encoding and am streaming at the maximum bitrate that twitch recommends, 3500.

Do I need to upgrade my CPU or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks.

You really should be using either quicksync or nvidia's nvenc for encoding with OBS.
