Video RAM. As you have RAM for your PC, your GPU has VRAM...The more= better :)

first of all, you didn't screw up. It's simply the memory allocated to GPU to store what it's working on. So as long as you aren't using up all of it, you should be just fine. and the only thing that comes to mind that uses upwards of 2gb of VRAM is a heavily modded skyrim.

video RAM I think.  Video RAM is much faster than your standard desktop memory and is used by your Graphics card to render graphics, videos and images.  The More VRAM the higher resolutions and more pixels you can push, but the faster VRAM and the faster you can do it.  The GTX 770 has super fast VRAM and 2GB of it.

 

You have made a fantastic choice.  2GB is the sweet spot for 1080p gaming right now and with the GTX 770's super fast memory you are able to play games perfectly at 1080p :)

its what games use to load textures, more ram higher textures without performance loss, (I Think)
