Wallpaper resolution

So im trying to get a wallpaper for my desktop that looks good but whenever i press select as desktop background this is what i get (included image)it appears all squashed and stretched Ive got a 1920 by 1080 monitor and the wallpaper is 1920 by 1080 what do I do?

Are you sure the picture is actually 1920x1080?

Some pictures can say '1920x1080' but are actually a smaller resolution.

yeah it did say but I think your right it might be a smaller resolution, do you recommend any places where I can get some decent wallpapers?

If you go on google > Image and size. you can write 1920x1080 by yourself and it should come up the right resolution.
