I have tried everthing i can think of to reslve.this isue. I can ping just fine but if i try nslookup is fails so i know it is a dns isue. I have tried the folowing.

Reset computer

restart dns service

set network adapter to use the gatway dns and 8.8.8.8 for a fallback. I can ping googl's dns fine so it is up.

Also tried 8.8.4.4 another public google dns server.

Checked to see that dns serv is runig in tsk mgr

Checked the adapter settings in divc mgr, and for updates.

Ip conections to the local network are fine and i can acess fiels on the servr. But not resolve its name. We dont have a domain and thats why it still works. The problem is isolated to one machine on the network. No network changes have been made to the client other than what i tried above.

Ive been working on it for two days and cant figure it out plese help.

I will do the best I can to help in any way. However I am not all knowing and realize that I can be wrong. Could this have to do with your problem? It might have nothing to do with it, if so ignore :). I'm not the greatest with networking.

It's a little far fetched but not unheard of. But have you ran a scan with malwarebytes?

It's kind of a good tool in the sense that it picks up things that normal anti virus programs don't. There are some forms of malware that can interfere with different aspects of your network.

No results. Tried runing tracrt but it tetminates at the gatway. Maby its a rout table isue. But i can still ping 8.8.8.8 but not trace it. Recent changes. Its my boss's previous computetr and he had a filter program on it. The subscription ran out but it hasent been uninstaled yet. I have gone into tsk mgr and ended both proces trees. After that i did a dns flush ip renew and dns srvs restart. No change.
