maybe you can download the mobo manual and refer to the jumper pinouts for the power and HDD LEDs they need to go in one direction

 

LED only work one current direction

hi all its my 1st post forgive me. i baught a msi 890fxa-gd70 off of ebay "used" it works it runs great everythings fine. but the front io for the power and reset dont work. the power led works witch is the weird part. if it wasent for the power button on the board itself idk how i could get it on i can send some pics idk if theres a jumper somewhere on the board or what its not that big of a deal i can just leave the side off on my desk but its just sorta bugging me the pins are fine and i dont see any damage to the chip or elce the led wouldn't go on eather i guess if you guys have any ideas let me know. thanks

you mean 990fx? also you probably just plugged in the front panel thingies wrong.

just a very old mobo

 

re-check all the connections for the PWR, HDD and LED for the front panel

 

if they look fine

 

make yourself some small jumper cable and get some push button switch from any electronic stores as a replacement for the switches on your casing

is it likely tho that the reset and power are faulty but the led and audio are fine @draggon20005?

yea buttons do wear out so you can't press them anymore

 

my power button do get stuck sometimes on my casing

hmm strange i think the guy wired your switch wrongly

OK !!!! i feel like a giant noob lol. the power and reset work but now the front led dosent work on that port for some reason but i could care less scene i can close my case now lol ^.^ thanks a ton dragoon!
