Problem with Chromecast

Hi. I have a chromecast and like it but im having a few problems. When playing from through an app like netflix or youtube im getting some strange video distortion but if i cast the a tab it works fine. Ive tried to do a factory reset, through the app and by holding the button but it just reboots and nothing happens, still connects to my network and everything. Ive tried casting from different devices and on a different tv but the same problem. There is two chromecasts in the house and the other one works fine so i dont think it has anything to do with the network.

It might just be a problem with your particular unit if the other one in your house works fine with the same casting situation.  Did anything happen to it while it was plugged in?

It just been sitting there. One day it worked fine the next this happened. I live and the UK and this one was one I won on a giveaway and was sent to me from the US so I cant return it under warranty because google will only accept it from the US.

Similar thing happened to me, I unplugged it, plugged it back in rebooted and it was fine

I'd recommend buying a new one if possible if what C_Mike said doesn't work.

Guys, this happened to me in a similar way. The thing worked perfectly. Then, one day, when I was casting a tab in Chrome, it started appearing as an almost entirely pink screen. If I cast the entire screen (which is in Beta and suffers a lot in regards to quality), it worked, but it would always break with casting tabs. 

Then, one day, it just started working again. I didn't do anything. 

I know that doesn't help, but hey, it's similar in that it just started happening randomly. Hopefully it stops happening just as randomly.

Actually It did work this morning. This problem started a few days ago but I didn't get around to looking at it properly until now, but Ive just remembered that i used youtube on it this morning though the android app and it worked fine. This seems like a software bug then.
