Which do you think i should get im looking at the qnix 1440p monitor and if someone could tell me a relatively inexpensive 21:9 monitor that is good that would be great. I have an r9 290 4670k and a 750w g2 from evga, My questions are which will look nicer, and game compatibility, thanks all :P

You have good power to push 1440p, I would go for 1440p, it is going to look better than 21:9 monitors. But if you need more space to multitask I would say go for 21:9, but games aren't going to look good stretched out at that odd resolution.

It would help to say where you live; prices do vary from region to region.

Also, what is your budget, and by nicer do you mean image clarity or the physical look of the monitor?

Is this monitor just for gaming?

Im in the Us my budget is about 350 (Hence the qnix monitor) both

and Mostly gaming but also general use.

you're probably better off with 144hz if you are gaming and haven't got it already

I'm personally drawn in by the 21:9 aspect ratio, but at your budget, and for gaming alone, it's hard to recommend something like the Dell u2913wm. Though I will make a few points about it (but I think it's a bit above your budget):

- Dell do great factory calibrated monitors

- The wider FoV might give a more immersive gaming experience

- The aspect ratio suits films

- Dell's warranty

The pixel density is what is really going for the Qnix though, no doubt about that.

EDIT: just to clarify, if I was going to get a 1080p 21:9 monitor, the Dell would be the one I'd get, no doubt about it.

With 1440p you get 360 more vertical pixels, I don't see why people even consider 21:9 at 2560x1080 for pretty much the same price as a 1440p.  3440x1440p makes sense however.

That exactly.

Any budget 21:9 will be 2560x1080, really small and letterboxy and less screen real estate than 2560x1440.

3440x1440 is awesome though :P
