Hi there.

I have a fairly old PC I have been using for the past two years, it is still going strong but I have come to the conclusion that it may be in need of an upgrade to be able to play some future games.

PC Specs:

CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 @ 3.00Ghz
GPU - PowerColor PCS+ HD5850 1GB
RAM - 4GB Kingston HyperX DDR2 1066MHz
MOBO - Asus P5KR LGA775
PSU - Corsair TX 650W

What should I upgrade first?
Thanks.

At first, you CPU and Mobo, then you memory, after that u can upgrade for a GTX 660 Ti or HD 7950, the only thing that u can keep is your PSU.

I recommend the i5-3570k, i7-3770k or the new Haswell.

8GB RAM 1866 MHz at least.

the mobo its your personal choice, I like asus and  Gigabyte mobos.

I agree with this post, and I would suggest waiting for Haswell before doing anything. Also, GTX 7xx is supposedly coming out soon, so the GTX 6xx prices would decrease. 8 gb of RAM is necessary, but the speed increase from 1600 Mhz to 1866 MHz is not that noticeable, and essentially only increases the cost of your rig.

that i didn't know it, but i checked some prices, the difference between the 1600 to 1866 its about $2-5 US dollars

1600: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231567

1866: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231527

and i found a 16gb memory for cheap price, but really saw someone with that: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820103036

Oh ok, I didnt know it was that small of a price difference. Might as well go ahead and get the 1866 MHz then.
