They apparently feel like the smoothest blacks ever, since there's no mechanical actuation (it uses magnetic sensors)

I use reds and I think they might feel similar, there is no discernable actuation point you just hit the travel limit the same as I imagine you would with the hall effect design.

I think the point of the design is to achieve durability and long lifespan as a permanent installation rather than feel nice.

I have had my hands on a single switch. They a SUPER linear and generally have a bunch of travel.

does it have to bottom out? also how does it sound when bottoming out?

Nope and it could even potentially tell where in the keypress you were if wired correctly. I don't know I just had a switch, nothing more.

Thanks for your input, I am really thinking about buying one just to make a video about it ^^

I know someone on GeekHack had a stash of number pads that had them. No matter what keyboard your going to get your very likely going to have to rewire all of it and run it off of a teensy or the like since it will very likely be in no way compatible with anything you ant to use it on.
