So, I want to update my BIOS on my z87 Asus Motherboard to see if I can get the new updated Asus interface, because in-BIOS fan control is something I want so bad!  So I want to update the BIOS, I updated the BIOS after I built my PC using EZflash in the UEFI.

But now I see this: post-42942-0-57938400-1404036739.png

*Note: Must apply the attached BIOS updater tool first before using the new Intel 4th Gen Core processors.

Firstly, I'm already using a 4th Gen CPU?, Secondly.  Can I still update the BIOS within the UEFI with this file, or do I have to do it through the OS (which I dont want to do)

Check BIOS version by running dxdiag on run. If the bios is already at the latest version no need to update it. Updating through UEFI is fine.

its not at the latest, I know which version I updated to last time.  I'm just not sure what the BIOS updater tool is?

Its a simple software you can download from the BIOS utilities sub menu. It will open a program that will allow you to select the BIOS and then update from the desktop. I have used it twice and it has worked for me. Only downside is that it will reset your BIOS settings including your overclocks and you will have re adjust the settings.

Oh, well.  I've got a RAID 0 array, so could I just set the Sata mode back to AHCI and all my data is still there?

EDIT: And could I update the BIOS with EZflash in the UEFI instead of the BIOS updater tool?

Yes. I have Raid 0 array and after the update it defaults to AHCI just change it to RAID 0 and you will be good. All your data will be intact. Yes you should be able to update the BIOS with EZflash but I can't confirm.

Okay, sadly the BIOS update was not the brand new Asus fan control BIOS but it completed successfully!  I enabled Raid mode and XMP after the update!  everything is fine!  I updated with EZFlash2 because I know how to use it! :D
