I recorded a clip of some gameplay today. I re watched the clip to make sure it was okay and I heard white noise in the background which is weird. I just got this new headset which is the corsair 2100 vengeance and I thought I make commentaries. I have the drivers btw. I tried contacting corsair and got no response. Does anyone have a clue to stop this noise? It goes away when I mute the mic, but then comes back when I unmute it.

Here is video example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4yNKHuaGwY

The beginning is with the mic on and then I mute it near the end.

Without the video it's hard, but what you are describing is usually just a noisy gain stage in what ever device the mic is plugged into.

EDIT: yep, just noise from the preamp, are you using onboard or is the headset usb?

Sounds like you mean background noise? Most mics pick it up. You can edit it out afterwards and minimize it by adjusting recording settings. No one can watch your video btw.

I fixed it, so you can watch it now. Also it only picks on up the two noises that are happening my clicking for my mouse and typing. Otherwise nothing else is going on in my room.

The video should work now. The mic is plugged into my motherboard usb 3.0 slot.

see edit in my post above.

You should be able to reduce the noise by turning down the gain in your sound manager for the mic input and talking louder.

Plug it in to the back of the computer directly into the motherboard not in the front panel. Front panel tends to create interference.

how do you know he's a pirate?

@immrthomas

Apply a low pass filter (6Khz and above with about a 3db roll off) is about the best you can do, it won't take it all out but it will take the most noticeable hiss.

okay thank you :D

Edited my post, I meant low pass filter, that could have been interesting, take out all the vocals and leave the hiss. :blink:
