Blurry text on display.

Go to solution Solved by GlassBomb,

I just wanted to let you all know that I managed to solve it.

It was as simple as getting a Dual-link DVI cable. I was using just a Single-link one before.

Alright, so I bought a new Graphics card earlier today (GTX 780). And I'm having an issue with my secondary monitor, whilst using DVI on it. Fonts and everything is blurry and what not. I have tried looking around for a solution, along with trying to fix it myself. But to no avail.

Anyone here know what I can try to fix it? This issue seems to only be happening with the DVI, and not DisplayPort. The monitors in question is a pair of Dell U2711's. Both of the monitors have the same problem, but again. Only on DVI. And I tried both of the DVI connections on the 780.

The cable I used was a 'new' one, still in its bag, also tried a second cable to. But still the same issue.

Here's an example picture. Screenshots are useless since they show as if all is well.

Did you try changing it to 1080p or 1080i. I had a issue with that before. Also try to change the input label, I did a post about that before, because it was really weird. I will look it up.

I've looked all over my screen's settings (even factory reset it). I have also checked if using 1440p or 1440i would do anything, it did nothing.

Oh, and if I didn't mention it before up there. I have the latest Nvidia drivers and everything.

Other things that I have tried;

Both 16 and 32-bit colors. Native, and lower resolutions. Faster and slower refresh times (+-5). I have no idea what caused this problem, and it's only with DVI, not with DisplayPort.

Did you check a different cable. Did you try changing the input labels on the monitor?

I checked DisplayPort, and both the DVI connections on the monitors. With two different DVI cables, on two separate outputs on the video card.
