Reverse airflow?

Go to solution Solved by Gachr,

What I meant by "standard" is double intake at front and exhaust at the rear. The radiator also on exhaust.

Hey guys :)

Is there anything one should know when you install a reverse airflow system?

I have the case below and my plan is to install 3 intake fans (1x rear and 2x top intake) and then 2x exhaust in the front.

I want to reverse my airflow because I want to install a H100i + HG10 (Corsairs new GPU bracket for liquid cooling) in the front and I read its a bad idea to put a rad at the intake because it will fill my case with hot air.

note: CPU is cooled with Noctua NH-D15

having that rad in the front and intake isnt gonna break your pc. might make it 5°C more hot in there,

hot air rises, so the hot air youre gonna take in is going to rise pretty fast out of your case,

bubbles!

What?

I don't think that it's a good idea, isn't it better to go with standard and exhaust on the radiator?

How can I go standard and exhaust on the radiator? No intake? WHAT?

Get dust filters.

Lian li comes with dust filters :)

The difference in temps will only be a couple of degrees, if you add the rear fan as an intake, then the CPU area will have pleanty of cool air.

Front & back intake? That will cause problems with my air cooled CPU

Not H100i?

You tell me to put rad on exhaust.

You tell me to make the rear fan the exhaust fan, but thats 120mm?

Put the rad on the front as intake, air moves fast, your temperatures won't be crazy hot, just 1-3°C

1-3C sounds like nothing to me...

Putting a rad in front was a "no-no" on the Tomshardware Airflow 101

Oh, okay, I confused it. You've got the case already?

Yes and its quite nice (same as every other Lian Li case).

I don't really care about temps to much just want a silent system.

I think HG10+H100i on R9 290x will be the most quite setup and costs about the same as a Tri-X 290X where I live.

Why not put rad at top?
