High CPU Temps?

Go to solution Solved by scaryjam823,

Hi guys, I recently finished my own computer with an msi gtx 770 and an intel 4670k. I have a cooler master vortex plus cooling my CPU. I was playing battlefield hardline beta on ultra 1080p and i noticed that my CPU temps were a little high . The non- ingame temps are about 35 Celsius while in-game i am running at about 65, 66,(max 67). I am overclocking my CPU to 4.0ghz but I am not sure if it is ok gaming at those temps and if it will significantly decrease the lifetime of my CPU.

Thank You.

Not even close to getting hot enough for it to be a problem. Anything below 80c under load is normal, anything higher is when it starts to get hot and could damage things if it is sustained at those temps. I'm running 4.5ghz and I get 55c, 4.7ghz gives me 70c under load both of which are fine temps.

Very normal; nothing to worry about. Only worry when your cpu reaches 90+ degrees.

That's fairly reasonable for a CPU temp. What's your ambient temperature?

Also, you won't really decrease your CPU's lifespan operating at those temperatures.

proud owner of alienware 13 with graphic amplifier and also a alienware X51 gaming PC!!! really powerfulL!!

If it goes that high it'll start throttleing. Try to keep it below 90. I personally to to keep it below 80.

Ok, so it won't significantly decrease the life of my cpu?

Not at all
