Sooooo I have a R9 290 and a GTX660, when the R9 290 is installed I get like 2-3 bluescreens a day. When the 660 is installed I never get bluescreen. My friend also got a similar problem, we both got the right drivers installed.

Any ideas why? also how do we fix it?

I'm sorry if this makes no sense but I tried to make it as understandable as possible..

Thank you!

it might be the drivers conflicting.

make sure the nvidia drivers are complete uninstalled when installing the R9 290 and it might be your PSU to whats your PSU rating ?

I've got a 650w +80 bronze i believe

Yeah I get blue-screened quite a bit

You need to uninstall the Nvidia drivers before installing your R9 290.

Follow this guide How to Remove Your NVIDIA GPU Drivers

Then install AMD display drivers. Preferably 14.4.

If that doesn't work, it's most likely a faulty card.

So I can't install the card, then uninstall nvidia drivers, then amd drivers?

Also, after I've uninstalled my nvidia drivers, do i install the amd ones with the 660 still in or then replace the gpu?

Thank you!

Basically you only want to have one driver or the other, and not both. If you're using AMD card, you only want to have AMD drivers. And vice versa.

Once you uninstalled the Nvidia drivers, turn off your computer, flip the PSU switch to off, and remove the 660 then install the R9 290.

Flip the PSU switch to on, turn on your PC, install the AMD drivers.

Alright, thankyou! I will try this out soon and I'll come back with results :)
